Wisconsin small business owner refutes Harris’s campaign slogan, “For the People, For the Future.”
ARLINGTON, VA—As the Harris campaign’s “For the People, For the Future” Convention kicks off, Driving Force Action released an ad featuring the personal story of Amy and EJ Fitzgerald, owners of Cool Hand Customs in Middleton, WI. The Fitzgerald family business, a symbol of the American dream, is at risk from the Harris-supported electric vehicle mandates on “the people”—small Wisconsin businesses. The ad begins airing on television, online, and social media on August 21.
Biden-Harris EV mandates effectively eliminate the sale of new gas-powered cars, forcing working-class Americans into cars they cannot afford and out of jobs they need. Kamala Harris has long supported EV mandates, co-sponsoring the Zero-Emissions Vehicle Act of 2019. This radical bill would have banned gas-powered vehicles, posing a severe threat to thousands of good jobs and increasing living expenses for middle and low-income Americans, facts that should concern all of us.
“Kamala Harris’ job-killing EV policy is a mandate that benefits wealthy people, not working people,” said DFA Spokesman Scot Crockett.
Harris-supported EV mandates also threaten thousands of jobs in the specialty-equipment industry, which supports nearly 25,000 Wisconsin jobs and generates $5.9 billion for the state’s economy. The potential loss of these jobs is a stark reminder of the human cost of EV mandates.
“Harris’ EV policy will destroy the automotive aftermarket parts industry nationally—a $336 billion industry employing over 1 million Americans,” said Crockett.
