Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick recently announced on Jesse Watters Primetime that she will be voting for the first time in the 2024 presidential election, and her choice is Donald Trump. Patrick described voting for Trump as a “vote of reason” and expressed confusion over why the “MAGA” slogan is often used as an insult. She also discussed the divide she perceives between men and women when it comes to voting for Trump, pointing out that many women cite Trump’s personality as a reason not to vote for him. However, she dismissed this as an insufficient reason, saying, “You don’t have to go to dinner with him, you just have to like the country that you live in.”
Patrick also explained why she hadn’t voted in previous elections, attributing it to her all-consuming focus on racing. However, her views changed as she began watching more news and attending political events like America Fest in 2023, where she was inspired by the patriotic atmosphere. Patrick praised Trump for his humor, unscripted nature, and connection with everyday people, qualities she finds lacking in other political figures. She expressed confidence that, with Trump in office, the U.S. could achieve even greater success than before.
