It’s time to unite and protect our passion for cars from the looming threat of internal combustion engine (ICE) bans at the federal and state levels. Driving Force Action (DFA) is fighting to stop the EPA and states from meddling with our cars and we want you to join us.
The stakes are high, and the danger is real. Sixteen states have already jumped on or are considering adopting California’s loony emission policies, pushing for bans on ICE vehicles within the next decade. And now, the federal government wants to force two-thirds of new cars and a quarter of trucks to be electric vehicles (EVs) by 2032. It’s not a joke – this is a direct assault on our way of life and our love of cars.
But first, let’s set the record straight on these ridiculous bans. Innovation doesn’t come from banning things; it comes from progress and creativity. We didn’t get the automobile by banning the horse and buggy, and we’re not going to get more environmentally friendly cars on the road by banning ICE engines.
We started our resistance in Virginia, where Governor Glen Youngkin promised to reverse the ridiculous law that would phase out gas vehicles by 2035. And, in June, he delivered!
Now we are expanding our nationwide alliance of car enthusiasts, gearheads, and small automotive businesses fighting to defend our freedom to ride by educating voters across the country about what President Biden’s gas car ban will mean for consumers.
For more than 135 years, the American car has been a symphony of steel, rubber, speed, and passion, that has captivated millions. It’s not just a mode of transportation or a hobby – it’s a way of life, an art form, something we depend on for our jobs and livelihoods, and a source of inspiration.
But we’re sorry to say that there are certain elite politicians, typically from high income districts that want to rob us of that freedom. They preach about saving the planet while jetting around in private planes and advocating for electric vehicles (EVs) while giving no consideration to their affordability or technological readiness. They prioritize a green agenda over the jobs and livelihoods of millions of us who use cars every day.
We care about the environment too, but we won’t don’t think hypocritical bureaucrats and politicians should be in a position to pick winners and losers in the marketplace. To be clear, we’re not opposed to EVs… But it seriously chaps our hide to have them jammed down our gullets as the only solution to a better environment.
